ProductNation is an initiative by iSPIRT a think-tank focused on Transforming India into a hub for new generation software products.ProductNation is a platform to nurture and grow the Indian startup product ecosystem. It seeks to inform, educate, and initiate dialogues among key ecosystem participants. The ProductNation blog is a first step towards the creation of a knowledge platform to especially bring forth new ideas in business strategy, product management, user experience design, and cutting edge technologies – areas which can most impact Indian startups in their journey to greatness. Future initiatives will focus on creating an interactive platform for budding startups to introduce their products to investors and the community in innovative ways.In the recent past, the software product ecosystem in India has gained significant momentum. Encouraged by funding, initial marketing successes and most importantly just plain good ideas, software product companies have sprung up in different parts of the country with the intent of monetizing these ideas. Interestingly these companies, in their quest for good talent and optimal costs, and boosted by widespread internet access, have even been set up in some remote towns and cities.

With a 789% growth in product startups and a 2173% increase in funded product ventures in the last 3 years, the Indian technology product economy is on an unprecedented growth trajectory. Indian-made software products are beginning to delight customers with their ease of use, engage users with their intuitive experiences and scale their technology for massive growth.

What’s the story behind the name? Well, it’s been intentionally named this way because we see the platform bringing together individuals with different backgrounds — just like our country, India. ProductNation aims to be a forum for these individuals to contribute their points of view and opinions and energize the software product industry with their passion for enhancing the product eco-system. The citizens of this great “nation” bring experience, diversity, information, knowledge and cut across caste, creed, race and color! In a nutshell, ProductNation is by the product guys, for the product guys.
